- With Beekeepers for a Day, you will have the opportunity to thoroughly explore the universe of bees, discovering their secrets and actively participating in the daily tasks of the beekeeper. - For honey lovers, we invite you to our Honey Tasting. Enjoy a unique sensory experience, discovering the different varieties and particularities of our delicious honeys. From the sweetest and floral to the most intense with salty and bitter notes, you will embark on a journey of flavors that will awaken all your senses.

Beekeepers for a day
We would like to share with you our day-to-day as beekeepers, and that is why we invite you to participate in our visits to the apiaries located in the Albera Natural Reserve.
During this unique experience, you will have the opportunity to see up close how we work with our bees in this extraordinary natural environment. We will explain all the details of the beekeeping process, from honey collection to the careful maintenance of the hives.
All visitors will enjoy a 10% discount in our store*.

How is the experience?
- The whole group meets at Abellaires Empordanesos to dress up as beekeepers.
- We go to the apiary with private cars (5 minutes).
- Small explanation of the environment and honey flora.
- We open the hive and see the different tasks of each bee.
- We observe how the entire bee population works in the hive and combine everyone’s participation with the use of the smoker (essential for the beekeeper’s work) and the hive.
- Back to questions and doubts.
- Short visit to the workshop and a sweet experience that includes a taste of three honeys from our farm.
- We finish the visit in our store where you will find a wide variety of honeys and products derived from the hive.
Honey tasting
Do you want to know about the world of bees and taste honey?
At Abellaires Empordanesos we offer you the opportunity to do a guided tasting of the most representative honeys in our store and learn about the work of bees and their importance.
We will start by sharing knowledge about the life of bees and their vital collaboration in nature. Afterwards, we will guide you through a unique tasting experience, highlighting the peculiarities of our honeys. An opportunity to immerse yourself in the beekeeping world through all the senses.
What is it included in the activity?
- We will briefly explain the life inside the hive and which individuals form this very interesting and complex family. You will discover how bees work and produce honey.
- At the tasting table, we will enjoy a selection of various honeys and learn about their properties. From the most delicate and floral honeys to the most intense and bitter ones. We will explore each variety, offering a complete sensory experience.
